What will I do... [9th May, 2012|10:24 pm]

[Current Music |MOTOOOWN!]

I like so many things. Bah! I have such a 3 second mind and just like doing stuff  in front of me! I don't know whether I want to go into something more creative like arts management, advertising and media or something like working for the foreign office, development/social policy, random organisational position for xx company.... or, or, or....!! So many options, life is so open atm >_>;;; I just hope I love whatever I'm doing. I always dreamt of going travelling and I was so lucky I was able to take a gap year and work enough to get to go away. I did a lot of stuff I never thought I'd get to do and in a way, accomplished some of my biggest dreams/mountain top moments then. Life is so cool and humans are awesome, there's just too much exciting stuff. I want to work more than one job, but I also want to get good at whatever I do!

I just to be able to be totally independent and look after my family and do something I grow to love. I guess that's everyone's dream!

NOW.... on to the main point.
This song about Marmosets is currently my favourite thing ever. hehehehehehe <3

Revision BLARGH. [5th May, 2012|12:24 am]
I'm so ashamed of myself, I can't will myself to work through the joy of academia and the discovery of self-fulfilling knowledge alone.... Only economic encouragement will do ;o; I feel like my acceptance into uni was such a con, I'm not a lofty academic with a buoyant thirst for knowledge but a teenage girl with a hunger for shoes and sparkly things.

If I get a 2:1 overall this year I will buy something along the line of THESE next time they're on sale under around/under £70. Getting a first is unreachable at this stage XD I can't ever justify buying these even though I've wanted them for years and they go on sale fairly regularly.... but as a reward? Different! Oh so shallow me.......... shhhhh!

Tees :3 [4th May, 2012|11:30 pm]
[Current Mood |calmcalm]

New t-shirts :D Threadless ship to the UK now!

I never wore t-shirts for like... 8 years. ["too casual, eugh! I'm so dressy!"]. But now I really like wearing baggy tees, looking forward to wearing these in the summer ^^ + shorts! wooden flip flops!

Otona [24th April, 2012|12:37 am]
[Current Mood |excitedexcited]

I saw this pic! and fell in love with a new style ;o; Otona or adult style which is as Xiaxue describes as preppy and vintage-looking. It's so cute! I've found some other descriptions of it is mature/cute/gyaru. It looks so adorable and manageable! Mori's cute but I really love tailored silhouettes (like kodona! dandy! sharp styles >:D!) but I'd love to combine elements of mori or loli into this. In fact.... Otona's kinda boring XD but I think it's cute and maneagable! I've always though suits and office style was cool, but I like the injection of colour. Kinda like 50s/60s? Dunno, baaaw, it's so cute! I can wear this! I think it'll suit me!

I like the flattering silhouette, scarf accessories and use of patterns/colours!

Basically, all I want is to look freaking cute all my life. This is like... back to school style without being too pedobear orientated hahaha. Loli skirts were always fitted too long on me anyway D8

Blogging.... isn't all about whiny teenagers any more!? [23rd April, 2012|05:20 am]
[Current Mood |ditzyblah blah blah blah!]

How did I technologically devolve so quickly o_o;;; I feel so freaking out of touch! Precious youth! Where did you go D8

I'm not sure I even understand memes now. *crawls under rock. technology free rock*

Now that everyone uses memes (even Virgin Media adverts) - what the hell goes on on 4ch now?  Yeah, curiousity still isn't enough to get me to check. What's new internet!?

ANYWAY! I've been reading all those Singapore/Malaysian blogs with all those shiny girls with pretty, contact-filled eyes and skinny legs in shorts. It's got me alllll into that blogging addiction again and then I saw the most adorable nerdy comic ever ;o; Then came the stalking of old haunts and reading of blogs of old friends and rereading of old entries on THIS blog and yeaaah, good times man. Good times still happening except I'm.....

ahahaha, I googled "out of the loop" and this came up. And it made me chuckle so I thought I'd post it. (it's funny because I did go live on a isolated island! So maybe that is valid points for being out of the loop. But I have been in civilisation for over a year and facebook time never wavered).

I'm aware the internet isn't all about me. But shit man, I've gotta learn how to use all this fun gadgetery nonsense again for adequate proscrastination fun (Facebook is sooooo boring). If I'm honest, I've had tumblr for months and still can't work out how to look at my f-list properly.... and THAT'S why I neglect to use it. I'M JUST LAZY D8 and I have nothing to say. Oh yeah, and busy, let's throw that in too cause everyone likes that ol' chesnut.

oh, and in ref. to the title. I end teenage years soon and so I must end the above whiny blog style and transition to well adjusted twenties lifestyle. Except no one ever told the Singapore/Malaysian lifestyle blogging girls that XD Wow.... persevering with the annoying myspace and LJ led to being paid to do it. But yeah, I love reading them 8D

Duuuude, in those old blog entries I didn't anticipate all this change. I thought I was WELL COOL and in the know ;D always hip and such. If I keep doing what I'm going I'll surely be retro in what, like, 2 years anyway? Bwahaha.... so many jokes....

Vegetarian Weekend II [18th April, 2010|11:05 pm]
[Tags|, ]

Moroccan (with apologies to Morocco) Vegetable Stew

1. Get epic amounts of vegetables.
2. Chop onions/shallots and fry off in some olive oil before adding aubergine to the mix.
3. Once nicely browned, coat in chili oil (none of the chilies from the jar) and add chopped garlic.
4. Add in courgettes, tinned tomatoes and a few cups of vegetable stock and let it simmer together. Add in 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon.
5. Add frozen peppers and chickpeas
6. If you have them (unlike me XD) add some coriander and lemon juice :3
7. Serve with cous cous and feel considerable full after!! I had additional hummus on very toasty toast with this :D

Waitrose frozen croissants are the best thing ever. Hot fresh croissants this morning- yum yum yum!!

I feel so tired =__= and I'm waking up early to go study at the library tomorrow with a friend D8

Writer's Block: Collector's piece [17th April, 2010|10:52 pm]

[Current Mood |determineddetermined]

Do you collect anything? If so, describe your favorite collection (past or present).

  1. Tony Blair
  2. Gordon Brown
  3. Nick Clegg
  4. Boris Johnson
  5. An official photo collection of the Queen (she's not allowed to sign things)

Writing letters to politicians is awesome, they need stay down with the kids and feel obliged to reply. Bwaaahahaha!

This is possibly why schools tend to send you to lessons. From having NO free periods I suddenly had about 2 hours free a day after my AS exams finished and thus, spent my time productively of course.

Let me note-  David Cameron sent me a reply and no signed photo.
I quote "David receives so many requests of this nature that we have run out of photos"

No reply from Obama, but I half expected that. I'm not really his target audience.

I hope to at least have signed photos of every Prime Minister of my lifetime. I personally think this is a wonderful hobby (far better than spoons and less bulky than figurines). All these photos sit nicely in a folder and it's quite a (thrilling!!) task getting the photos in question. That moment of pride when you rip open an envelope sent from Westminster is something quite extraordinary...

((if you're interested in my inspiration behind this collection, I sent a letter asking for an end to the war enclosed with peace bookmarks I'd made to Downing Street when I was 9. The reply I got was "Tony would appreciate the effort put into the bookmarks. Please enjoy the enclosed photo" and hey presto, a nice big grinning Blair fell to my feet. Naturally, I was slightly taken aback. I relayed this story to my friends last year and then thought how awesome would it be to exploit the fact politicians all print photos of their faces to sign to send to small children instead of decent replies. IT IS SO FUN!!!))

EDIT: whut LJ!? This keeps going blank when I centre anything! D8

Vegetarian Weekend 1 [11th April, 2010|09:56 pm]
[Tags|, , ]
[Current Mood |fullfull]

So, last week I just ate all the side vegetables served alongside Easter roasts and it was fine, but not all that satisfying for the palette. I'm trying to be vegetarian on the weekends and think Sundays are a good opportunity to try out new recipes too.  I do just tend to cook with whatever I find in the fridge, so don't expect any planning. If the ingredients seem random, it's because they are. So here you have my week 1 creation ^_^

Grilled Portobello Mushrooms with Garlic and Rosemary Chips
  1. Crush a clove of garlic per mushroom into a flat dish filled with rather many glugs of olive oil.
  2. Roughly remove the pines of one rosemary twig and smash about a bit to get the oils out, then mix into the oil.
  3. Cut the stems off the mushrooms (but don't thow them away!). Brush the mushrooms with the oil on the gill side and lay face down before brushing the topside too.
  4. Chuck the stems back in the dish to marinate and cover with clingfilm, leave to sit somewhere cool whilst you go and defragment your computer and look at youth hostels in Japan for a few hours :)
  5. Come back and turn on the grill to a high temperature.
  6. Feeling active? Wash, peel and cut potatoes into wedges. Par boil for a few mins.
  7. Feeling like me? Get some frozen chips XD
  8. The mushrooms should have soaked up a lot of the oil (or you just put less in then you remember....). Take the mushrooms out and pour all the lovely garlic, rosemary and any remaining oil on the chips and toss to coat evenly.
  9. If using real potatoes, extra oil can be added, frozen oven chips need none (so hopefully, it was soaked into the 'shrooms).
  10. Grill the chips for 5 minutes, then remove from oven and turn about. Add mushrooms gill side up.
  11. Grill for 3 more mins, turn mushrooms over and grill for 2 mins.
  12. If you used real potatoes, time for you to guess how long stuff works out for and you probably meed to actually roast them first....
  13. Whilst all that was cooking - you should have had time to make a salad and vegetable sticks to eat with hummus on the side!
  14. My salad - 1 cubed avocado, 3 inches of diced cucumber, couple of chopped sun dried tomatoes and a spring onion. Yay!
