Hallooooo, I have had 5 hours in transit at Singapore Changi Airport and have been wandering around aimlessly doing bits and bobs of all the free stuff available :3
One thing that dissapoints me is.... MY FLIGHT IS JUST AT THE CUTOFF TIME FOR THE FREE 2 HOUR SINGAPORE CITY TOUR D8
I'm flying at 11:55am and your flight has to be at 12pm or later to be let on the tourbus T_T Meh, I've been able to play Battlefield 2, eat laksa and take photos of my family holiday without the family. Free internet is nice :3 I've gone to two terminals and oggled at cute food packaging in all the mini marts. *nom nom nom*
Seriously, transit in Singapore airport is FUN. It's like my own singles holiday XD
WEDDING was good. Plenty of food, sunshine and utter romantic cheese. Plus, you always discover things you never knew about your cousin in the best man's speech :p Austrailia was awesome in the summer, I've only ever been during their winter in our summer holidays but it was so goooood <3
My family's staying on holiday and going around Austrailia, Singapore and Malaysia whilst I'm going to school and living alone for a week hence the reason I'm travelling alone now. Ahhh, I just wanna stay on holiday now XD *runs out of terminal into Singapore*. I think I might come back next December during my gap year, just need to work out the logistics and investigate costs but that'd be rather snazztastic if it'd work out :3! (Then maybe hit Japan after New Year???) |

For my friend's 18th her present was tickets for her and friends to see Lostprophets at their Little Noise Session gig at the Union Chapel in Islington. All proceeds from tickets and merchandise sales go to Mencap, so it's generally a very awesome thing. Queued up outside the venue for a good few hours in order to secure GOOD PEWS though alas, not front row pews. When we walked inside the atmosphere was amazing! The architecture was all lit up and the venue felt so intimate yet still grand.
Egyptian Hip Hop were the first band to play and screwed up a little bit but their last song was good. Then the frontman for King Blues came on and said a poem he wrote about women and about how basically, you're beautiful and he'll never understand all the things all the ladies do XD It was actually pretty deep and really set the mood for their set which was BEAUTIFUL <3 Seriously, I like, wanted to get married just so I could have them as my wedding band. Their songs and lyrics were just so... lovely~! Inbetween bands you were free to roam around (go to the temporary BAR in the church D8!) and they were selling ice-cream!! Haha, felt insane but oh so very awesome :D
I was curious as to how The Blackout and Lostprophets would deal with an acoustic set (since neither are particularly renowed for their music as such, more for how they get a crowd going and Sean Smith's screaming) but both were incredible!! Since I love The Blackout anyway I was very happy with their set and I thought it sounded so good!! Lostprophets performed with a Welsh Mens Choir which was incredible and really made use of the church's acoustics. Big highlight = Ian Watkins not only said Happy Birthday to my friend, but conversed with her about her flashing badge whilst he was on stage <3. Due to the size of the venue and the acoustics you could actually TALK to the bands which was AMAAAZING. I just shouted "IT'S HER BIRTHDAY" and pointed when Lostprophets asked how everyone was doing and my voice echoed out in the church and they were only 4 metres awat from us anyway!! Loved the intimacy of the whole gig, it was great how the crowd just heckled and chatted with The Blackout and Lostprophets which would be impossible at any other gig.
OKAY, PICS NAO! ( Snip Snip! Save your F-list :D )
It was an incredible concert and unlike any gig I've ever been too, I highly recommend going to any Little Noise Sessions next year :D <3 The tickets are expensive, but treat it as a donation to charity.... seriously, the night is well worth the money.
BTW - I'm going to Austrailia on Weds for a wedding!! Excited for sun, good food and lots of family (+wearing fancy wedding clothes, nuh uh??) BE BACK SOON! <3 and another note- I got my first offer from Goldsmiths only 4 days after they had my application (fshhhaw Rapidash speed or wut o__o???) so yeah, I'm ok now... uni will have me :D |

OH GOSH. This will mean nothing to 99% of my f-list but AUHKSAAJNA HOUSE DRAMA AND MUSIC!!! (I do believe 2 people on here are from school?? :D)
The stress, emotions and worry....!! It has been my life for the last 3 weeks... every breaktime, lunchtime, free periods and after school has been HOUSE DRAMA REHEARSALS/PLANNING. To explain... basically you have to produce a 40minute show including dance, music, drama that includes every year from school- do costumes, script, lighting, sound, set... eveeeeerything! My school has 4 houses each with 2 captains and each is given a theme. Our was ASIA naturally making both me and my fellow (Indian) house captain rather chuffed.
But dudes, srsly. I haven't been thinking about anything else. I was waking up in the middle of the night remembering "... need to rehearse that, oh shit...." etc. I think I've cried more in the past 2 days than I have in a looooong time. Amazing experience and I DO rather like the celebrity feeling around the school. Can't believe we pulled it off and I am so so SO proud of all the other house captains. I love them all and everyone who helped me and just supported me so so much.
We didn't win overall, but we were ALL frigging awesome which means just as much. We were all different and any one of us could've won :) The teachers said we were the best house captains the school's ever had... ;___;!! I'm seriously so happy/relieved etc!!! We won programme which means a lot to me since I made it all :D So much effort went into this!!! I can now rehearse groups, arrange music and conduct... plus I've been in the spotlight for a whole show now XD! waaaaw~!!
also... it's my last year at school :( OUR WHOLE YEAR IS AMAZING!!! I love everyone around me ridiculous amounts. It's knowing that I can totally be MYSELF all the time around these people and that I love them and they love me XD! There is no one in the year I don't feel comfortable with and I'd happily sit and talk to anyone in the common room. The whole year went out to TGI Fridays after and racked up a £1000 food bill, took the whole upper layer and sang, danced, screamed and loved everyone for the rest of the restaurant to see (or hear... XD haha). I'll miss this time of my life, but I know these people will be amazing for years to come!!! <3
AND NOW FACEBOOK. EVERY PERSON IN MY YEAR HAVE THE SAME STATUS. OH DEAR, WE ALL LOVE EACH OTHER A BIT MUCH.
Life goes on now... I guess, Franz Ferdinand & expo?? oh gosh...! (oh and personal statement and 3 weeks of homework to catch up on hahaha... oh well!)
EDIT: OH I'VE JUST REALISED.... NEXT YEAR I CAN'T USE THE "SCHOOL" TAG :( *CRIES*

| Reading Festival 2009 |
[2nd September, 2009|01:30 pm] |
Who I saaaaw~! (RANDOM ORDER OF WHATEVER MY PROGRAM'S IN)
Madina Lake Alexisonfire New Found Glory Fall Out Boy Kaiser Chiefs (whilst eating overpriced food) Kings of Leon (*cough* Kings of Fail.... *cough*) Fightstar .... first 10 minutes of The Prodigy before events kicked up. The Blackout Kids in Glass Houses Noah and the Whale FAIL (No 5 years time... we had ukeleles ;__;!) Bloc Party Radiohead Little Boots The Horrors (briefly, before dying) Florence and the Machine Friendly Fires You Me at Six Patrick Wolf (only Magic Position, but it was lovely~!) Metronomy Passion Pit Crystal Castles (and managed to fall asleep, much to the amusement of those around me XD) The Gaslight Anthem Baddies Magistrates The Joy Formidable Suprise....Fire 3OH!3
Plus we used about 15 first aiders so I think I got my ticket's worth.
In The Prodigy, a crowdsurfer kicked my friend in the head (she's tiny!! and we were at the freaking BACK). She fell unconscious straight away and luckily her brother was there with his friends. They carried her out and I just yelled at everyone to get out the way. Luckily the first aiders came round very quickly and were ultra sympathetic for us because we'd taken neither alcohol or drugs (they told the other drunken teenagers who asked them to help to go and sit down somewhere, totally ignored them XD). Then they though she might've broken her neck... and had to put her on a spinal stretcher which happened just as Prodigy were finishing and the ring we were making around her to stop the crowd walking over her was breaking. It was a horrible situation with a drunken mob swarming around you and trying to keep things calm ><. Got to go backstage (ambulance bays).... saw all the band coaches but wasn't really paying much attention to them and went to the festival hospital. AND SHE WAS TOTALLY FINE. Concussion, but all the bones in the right place thank gosh. She came back the next day (we toned the story down to her parents....!) and spent the day sitting at the back of everything :D (hence the reason why I fell asleep on someone during Crystal Castles).
After her parents came I was wondering around the arena on my own... thought I'd see Arctic Monkeys from the back before meeting the people she was meant to go home with and explain, but heard The Blackout. They were SO SO FUN ;___;! I was feeling pretty lonely and shattered and they were so loud and so happy, made me feel sooo much better XD So yes, I'm eternally grateful to very witty Welsh bands. 'side from the above, it was a BRILLIANT fest and so much better than last year. :D
Ran away on Sunday night- which is good because apparently everyone we were camping with did likewise at 3am when people tried to set their tents on fire. Went to see Walking With Dinosaurs on Monday and bought AN AMAZING HAT. I KID YOU NOT. RAWR. FOR I AM A DINOSAUR. So what if everyone else wearing them was 6? I'M A DINOSAAAUUUUUR!
I ARE TOO TIRED TO GO TO A JAZZ CLUB TONIGHT WITH OTHER HUMANS. I WILL SIT AT HOME WITH MY DINOSAUR HAT.

62KM 20KG RUCKSAC 46 HOURS WALKING 4:45 WAKE UP TORRENTIAL RAIN AFTERWINDS FROM HURRICANE BILL
I'M TIRED.
But have Gold Duke of Edinburgh 8D So it's all good. I think it's like having a baby, you forget the pain! I want to go to Buckingham palace in lots of frills to make up for this~!
Naaawh, it was alright really. I'm just not as excited about Reading fest as I should be. The whole tent, mud and standing up thing ain't so appealing. But.... LITTLE BOOTS!! I can't wait to see her live, I actually know the lyrics to her songs!! (usually me+lyrics= terrible friends). I just hope everyone doesn't get horribly pissed. Luckily I live near enough I can go home but I'm just worried that if anything bad happens when I'm not there it could've been prevented if I'd hung around.... >_< eugh, I just get really worried about my friends when they all drink alcohol around me to the extent they're asking me in advance to look after them. I'm a worry butt, but someone has to be. |

| Summer Days~ |
[20th August, 2009|12:02 pm] |
I had a fantastic time over the last 2 days and have actually felt like a youth enjoying the summer~! My friends came round and we all ate food and watched weird films (Dostana, a bollywood film is AMAZING AND HILARIOUS. Watch it.). I made everyone watch Yakitate!! Japan ^__^, we all had breadgasms later on~ Then in the evening we made a campfire and bought marshmallows form the petrol station at 11pm before toasting and making smores under the stars~ Cooked garlic bread and prawn toast in the ashes when the flames had died down and counted stars :) Then in the morning, we made cocktails before going to sit around in the park on the hottest day of the summer (and ate quiche!)!
I feel utterly MEH about results and the whole shabang. Neither nervous, nor excited. Just all matter of fact. I'm glad with what I got (not 74039832 retakes, thank gosh~!). I think I got full marks in the 2nd History of Art paper which makes me really happy :) I had a lot of fun in that exam and really liked writing the essays *geek* XD. I also got a high A in economics which I am SO happy about because I thought I'd have to drop it >-< (I got like... less than half that in my mock). I love my economics class XD! Just kinda suprised really as the I thought the exams were pretty awful! Erm, so yes. 3 As and 2Bs. Biology, Economics, History of Art. Chemistry and Critical Thinking. Now to do it all again this year...!
I'M SEEING A COUSIN I HAVEN'T SEEN IN 6 YEAAARS NOOOOW! * E X C I T I N G * We were best cousins back then :D I swear, I see my cousins in Malaysia more than her, she's only in Chester XD.

| HUSTLE! |
[17th August, 2009|01:29 am] |
*boogies*AHHHH!!! I bought Samba de Amigo for £10 and I swear it's the most fun game I have EVER played. I have wanted this game for YEARS since it was on the Dreamcast (I lacked a Dreamcast...) and never found an arcade version. Then I never got round to buying the Wii version XD However, I went shopping with my cousin and her kiddy-winks in Canary Wharf yesterday (there was a Jazz festival) and bought it along with a DS case I will deco up.
I've only played it for a few minutes so far, but damn that was fun. Spending the weekend with small children reminds me how aliiiiiive they are~!! But it also means I get ice-cream every time we go out when I'm with them :3 (and roll around in the sand in playgrounds with them~!)
I'm conducting a Niche Film Night with my friends on Tuesday and hope it all goes well. Everyone must bring a weird film they love which they will force all of us to watch, which we will do so dutifully as we are lovely friends. All this shall broaden our narrow film horizons and introduce us to genres we would never have touched otherwise! I'll update you on the Bollywood knowledge gained next post ;D!
